This major motion picture from Fox Searchlight Films opens in
1800 theaters on February 27th, 2004 and features some of the
greatest vintage reggae recordings from the Trojan and RAS
catalogs. In addition to being a Reggae compilation worthy of
any devotee of the genre, this Soundtrack will serve as a
primer for a younger and more mainstream audience, not unlike
what “O’ Brother” did for Bluegrass music. Add a hot
remix of Yellowman’s “Party” by famed club DJ Felix Da
Housecat impacting just in time for the jammin’ Spring Break
parties – and you have the right combination for a Summer
soundtrack sensation!
“Club Dread” stars Bill Paxton as Coconut Pete, a rock
star has-been now island resort owner surrounded by limber,
wanton women on his booze-soaked island resort. But the
non-stop party takes a turn for the weird when dead bodies
start turning up faster than you could drink a rum
punch!.
